Polly

Polly is a close associate and right-hand man of Anthony “the Gentleman” Calloway, the influential half-orc crime boss who runs the Cha-Ching Club in the Beggar’s Nest slums of Neverwinter.

The Bargain of the Beggar’s Nest

Following a series of chaotic events in the Neverwinter sewers—culminating in the death of the city’s corrupt comptroller, Patricius, and the acquisition of a powerful Ring of Control Water Elementals—the adventuring party known as the Magnificent Five sought out the Gentleman. Seeking information on the Cult of the Dragon, they delivered Patricius’s body to Calloway at his casino, fabricating a story about a Luskan ambush.

Calloway accepted their terms, offering them half the reward and a highly valuable lead: the location of Talis the White, who was being held in the high-security wing of the Peninsula Prison, an island fortress connected to Neverwinter’s Peninsula District.

However, the Gentleman’s cooperation carried a critical catch. In order to secure the lead, the party was forced to agree to free Polly, who was also held within the Peninsula Prison. To guarantee the success of this high-risk jailbreak, Anthony Calloway demanded an unbreakable oath from the party as collateral, binding their fates to Polly’s rescue.

The Leveraged Escape

In later negotiations, the Gentleman attempted to pressure the party by offering Polly’s freedom in exchange for the identity of the spy on Neverwinter’s Small Council along with proof of payment for the stolen ring. However, after a tense standoff in the Cha-Ching Club, Calloway admitted he did not actually know the spy’s identity and had merely bluffed to secure Polly’s release. He confirmed that Talis the White was the only one who could provide the answers they sought.

Because the Gentleman keeps his distance from high-society figures and has no active inside connections within the high-security prison, he could not provide direct assistance or covert entry for the jailbreak. He did, however, offer to supply the party with a detailed map of the Peninsula Prison complex if they officially accepted the contract to break Polly out.
