The Uthgardt

The Uthgardt are an ancient and storied tribal people, regarded as the first humans, elves, and half-elves to settle the rugged northern wilderness of the Sword Coast.

History and Culture

Historically, the Uthgardt sustained themselves primarily through fishing and hunting. Their legendary lineage and daring exploits in the unforgiving northern climate are well-documented in regional lore, even becoming the subject of children’s adventure books. The legendary founding figure of the Uthgardt is known as Reghed.

The Fall of the Tribe

Approximately five years ago, a catastrophic tragedy struck the Uthgardt. A highly coordinated undead army, commanded by cloaked figures and powerful wizards, descended upon and utterly destroyed the tribe that raised the half-elf ranger Eole.

Descriptions of the military uniforms worn by the commanding wizards and cloaked leaders eventually linked the massacre directly to the forces of Luskan. This horrific event sparked a bitter quest for vengeance, aligning the surviving remnants of the Uthgardt with other forces seeking to combat the expansionist, undead-driven threat of the City of Sails.
